Materials science and engineering incorporate acquiring of knowledge on synthesis and processing of materials, their composition and structure, properties and behaviour, functions and potentialities as well as application of that knowledge to various final products. Economic prosperity, life quality, and healthy environment are tightly connected with the improvements in the existing and the development of new materials and processing technologies. These improvements and development can contribute greatly to the national priorities: energy saving, environment and health protection, food, information and communication, infrastructure, transportation, etc. Bearing this in mind, a group of leading Yugoslav scientists working in various fields of materials science and engineering established in 1997 Materials Research Society, first as Yugoslav and in 2008 as Materials Research Society of Serbia. MRS-Serbia organizes annual YUCOMAT Conferences in Herceg Novi in early September and from 2002 annual Young Researchers’ Conferences in Belgrade in mid-December. Average number of participants at YUCOMAT Conferences is 200 and more that 300 renowned scientist from all over the world gave invited plenary lectures.

Reliability and Stress-Related Phenomena in Nanoelectronics Experiment and Simulation (“Stress Workshop”) scope of the conference The conference will provide a forum for presenting current research and for discussions of future developments related to reliability and stress-induced phenomena in nanoelectronics. The 9th International Charles Parsons Turbine and Generator Conference Organised by IOM Communications on behalf of the High Temperature Materials Committee and Surface Engineering Division of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Charles Parsons' concepts and designs have been instrumental in developing turbo-machinery for the mass generation of electricity and propulsion. His legacy has been honoured through the series of Parsons conferences focused on the developments in materials for steam and gas turbines, and this series is set to continue in September 2015. The 2015 conference will focus on the challenge of increased flexibility in thermal power plant, and industrial and aero gas turbines and generators, whilst maintaining high efficiency. Energy markets around the world are changing as a result of increased generation from renewable sources and increased regulation to enable renewable technologies to become competitive. This change will require thermal power plant to respond in different ways in different markets, with a continued drive for increased efficiency, but also a drive for increased flexibility, which may be in the form of alternative fuels, or in the number of cycles and speed of response. With respect to gas turbines for marine or aerospace propulsion, which have always had more aggressive thermal cycles, there is a continuous drive to increase efficiency and cut emissions to promote sustainable travel. Significant effort is therefore being made to understand how materials will respond to new combinations of stress and environment for existing technology and for new designs with unconventional aggressive environments from alternative combustion systems and fuels. Steam and gas turbines will be required to generate power for many years to come, but with improved design, operation and maintenance the environmental impact can be minimised

The International Conference on Manufacturing Advanced Composites will be held in Bristol over two days on the 24th/25th of June 2015. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum where all those interested in composites manufacturing from the academic and industrial worlds can meet to interact and discuss their common interests. There will be five major themes within the conference Assembly and Metrology - acknowledging that composite components are assembled into larger and more complex structures Automation - covering both AFP/ATL and flexible automation approaches Design for Manufacture in Composites - including related areas such as cost modelling Factories of the Future - including manufacturing sustainability and waste recovery Skills and Training issues - including the development of effective supply chains. Prior to the ICMAC conference there will be a free Open Day event on the 23rd of June to inform the community of the work done to date by the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Composites (CIMComp). XVII Congress of SPM and VII International Materials Symposium Bearing in mind the increasingly demanding applications, MATERIALS at different size scales, shapes and combinations need to be well understood at scientific and technological levels. Hence, the biggest challenge for Academia and Industry is a global understanding of each other’s role and a clear communication between all actors. New materials will have to be discovered, whilst the existing ones have to be optimized for each new application as far as characterization, processing, design and modelling are concerned. This will have to be done from nano to macroscale, considering life cycle analysis and sustainability. Materiais 2015 aims at examining relevant Materials’ areas with the purpose of promoting a better understanding of Materials’ behaviour and applications as related to more efficient and sustainable forms of energy production and storage; new biomedical uses; structural intelligent materials; efficient use of materials in buildings, transport, electronics, mechanics, materials and art, among others. The Conference will be run under the auspices of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Materiais, which has active groups in all classes of materials: metals, ceramics, polymers and composites.

The Symposium series has become recognized as the unique and key event bringing together scientific, technological and product-related issues, and personnel active in aluminium surface critical products and their innovations.
The scope of the Symposium encompasses all aspects of aluminium surface characterization, modification, performance and development. Specific fields of interest include, but are not limited to, rolling and extrusion processes, material deformation effects, joining processes, multi-material assemblies, wet chemical surface processing, electrolytic processing, adhesion and organic interactions, plasma-based surface modification technologies, corrosion and protection mechanisms, self-healing, and other functional properties of products.
This conference emphasizes interdisciplinary research and fosters exchange between aluminium producers, scientists and end users. Applications sectors as diverse as aerospace, automotive, heat exchangers, architectural, electronics, lithography, packaging, nanotechnology, and others are to be addressed.
