Cormier TMS awards banquet

After receiving the FEMS Lecturer Award for Excellence in Materials Science and Engineering in 2016-2017 at Junior Euromat in Lausanne, Switzerland in July 2016, Jonathan Cormier was named FEMS/TMS 2018 International Scholar. He presented his view on “The challenges and future of Ni-based single crystal superalloys component design” during the last TMS Annual meeting, held in Phoenix, Arizona, from March 11 to March 15, within the special FEMS Keynote symposium on “Energy and Transportation from a European Materials perspective”.

Just one more month to the abstract submission deadline for the Twentieth Materials Research Society of Serbia Annual Conference YUCOMAT 2018 that will be held in a charming little town at the Adriatic coast, Herceg Novi, Montenegro, 3-7th September, 2018

FEMS-TMS MoU signature

During the TMS annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, board members from The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) and from FEMS agreed to extend their programming collaboration with the signing of a new memorandum of understanding. The new agreement would bring more FEMS-sponsored programming to TMS meetings and more TMS-sponsored programming to FEMS conferences.

As a founding member of the French Federation of Materials (FFM), SF2M is organizing the next Grand Conference Matériaux 2018 to be held in Strasbourg, France from November 19 to 23. It comprises 18 thematic symposia covering a very broad spectrum from Production related issues to numerical simulation.
