Prof Luís Pereira

Prof Luís Pereira is currently the technical-scientific Director of the AlmaScience Collaborative Innovation R&D lab and a technology incubator for sustainable functional materials and green electronics based on cellulose and other natural materials, and Associate Professor of the Department of Materials Science at the School of Science and Technology at NOVA University Lisbon.

The R&D interests focus on synthesising inorganic and hybrid nanostructured materials, cellulose nanocomposites, functional micro and nanofibers and integration into chromogenic, electronic and electrochemical devices on flexible substrates.
He has over 200 articles published in ISI international journals, with more than 10000 citations, h-index 49, (scopus). Associate Editor of the journal NPJ 2D Materials and Applications. 

Professor Luis Pereira has been a member of the board of the Portuguese Materials Society (SPM - Sociedade Portuguesa de Materiais) since 2017 and is currently vice president. He is the Coordinator of the Southern Regional Council of the College of Materials Engineering of the Portuguese Order of Engineers since 2022 and Vice-President of the Transparent Conductive Materials Network since 2018.
